Our purpose is to encourage the highest level of professional service in the Estate Planning field.

Membership Requirements

  1. Applicants for membership, in addition to meeting the applicable professional qualifications, listed here in detail, must be recommended for membership by two (2) members in good standing. One recommending member must be employed in the same profession as the applicant and the other must be from one of the other three membership groups.  Members recommending new candidates shall give careful consideration to the objectives of the Council and attest to the applicant's qualifications. Furthermore, they shall proactively encourage new members they recommend to regularly attend meetings and to participate in the leadership of the organization should they be asked to serve.

  2. All members (other than retired members) must be actively practicing the professions designated above in the counties of Manatee, Desoto and Sarasota, Florida, or any other counties in Southwest Florida as the Executive Committee shall wish to approve.

  3. The charter members shall be those adopting and signing the Articles of Incorporation on or before April 30, 1964.  Subsequent members of any of the said member groups shall be elected by a majority vote of the Executive Committee.

  4. No professional membership group shall have more than 50% of the total membership.  All additional approved applications shall be placed upon a waiting list with applicants admitted to membership in the order in which their applications were approved.

  5. Any member of a professional group with a waiting list, who shall fail to attend at least 50% of all "technical" meetings (meetings other than the annual, general meeting) of the Council for any fiscal year, shall be dropped form the membership unless, upon good cause shown, the Executive Committee of the Council shall determine otherwise.

 

TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP PLEASE CLICK THE "JOIN US" BUTTON TOP OF THIS PAGE AND PROVIDE REQUESTED CONTACT INFORMATION.   YOU WILL RECEIVE, BY EMAIL, OUR MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION.  COMPLETE THE FORM AND SUBMIT AS REQUESTED ON THE FORM.  UPON REVIEW AND APPROVAL YOU WILL BE GRANTED PROVISIONAL MEMBER STATUS AND INVOICED FOR OUR MEMBERSHIP DUES ($300 AND NEW MEMBER APPLICATION FEE OF $25).  UPON PAYMENT OF DUES YOU WILL BE GRANTED FULL MEMBER STATUS.  MEMBERSHIP DUES INCLUDE MEALS FOR OUR MEETINGS HELD MONTHLY (EXCEPT DECEMBER) BETWEEN SEPTEMBER AND APRIL.  DUES ALSO INCLUDE DINNER FOR YOU AND YOUR SPOUSE/SIGNIFICANT OTHER AT OUR ANNUAL OUTING HELD IN MAY OF EACH YEAR.
